55th Filmfare Awards 2010 Nominations

Please look at this link for the nominations first:

Today I understand why gems like Aamir Khan do not attend the Award functions. That’s because these award functions do not promote the real talent. Rather, they promote the political influence of people in the industry. I was very disappointed to see that Mr. Abhay Deol and Mr. Piyush Mishra were not nominated for this year’s Filmfare awards for the best actor and best musician category respectively.

I was more disappointed to see the star-son Ranbir Kapoor getting 2 nominations for the best actor category. I seriously believe that his role in Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani is not at all worth a nomination. I wonder, is it because of the sympathy to his character in the film that he’s being nominated? Abhay Deol, on the other hand, who is well known for doing the ‘thode-se-hatke’ roles in bollywood, has done the most cliched role of ‘devdas’  in a truly hatke style and received appraisal for his work. But when is the filmfare jury going to recognize his talent? I apprehend the golden era of the bollywood awards is coming to an end. Now, its merely a platform for the princes and princesses of the veteran actors who ruled the bollywood some 30 years ago.
